We had a lovely two night stay at Michelle and Andrew's in August 2018. The weather was a mixed bag but we still had an amazing time. Everyone says the area is nicer in summer so we will have to come back, but we are winter people and had a great time! The house itself was very comfortable and cosy. Nice clean bathroom, really comfortable bed and couch, and a well appointed kitchenette. Lots of little details thought of – fruit and snacks from the garden, tea coffee etc. The heater was effective and made the place cosy, and I particularly loved having an electric blanket. The property is incredible – alpacas and two friendly dogs (had lots of cuddles with Elvis in particular!), and chooks are all about. We were also greeted by two happy kangas and their joey as we drove in, and saw two echidnas hanging out in one of the paddocks. The property is next to some state forest which is lovely for a short walk. They have built the place on the hill set far back from the road, so you get great views but also peace and quiet for a good sleep. We had the gourmet brekky and it was really good - lovely honey and yoghurt and poached fruits, as well as toast and eggs from the chooks! It stayed windless long enough that we were able to use the fire and have the blinds down on our second night and it was so cosy cooking our barbecue, playing board games and drinking wine in front of the open fire - then toasting marshmallows for dessert! The bbq pack was amazing. Andrew brought out some home grown and home brined olives, followed by incredible local meat for us to cook ourself, and two delicious salads made with roast veggies and leaves from their garden. He had also provided some really tasty condiments. The only sad part of the evening was Ollie and Elvis wanting to come and join us but looking longingly at us through the closed blinds. I’d highly recommend Andrew and Michelle’s for a getaway. The property is a bit out of the way, so possibly if you are wanting to go out at night a lot you may want to be a more confident country driver than I am, but if you are planning on staying in and being cosy it’s ideal. We went to Brae on our first night and Michelle and Andrew organised a transfer by a local resident which meant we could both have a drink and not worry about getting back in the dark! Hopefully we can find an excuse to go back!

We had a fabulous time at Michelle & Andrews! Great space with fab recommendations from Andrew. Really lovely touches through out(with local wines/condiments) and fresh grapefruits/lemons from the garden. Lovely place to get away from the city with walking trails around the property. Would highly recommend and would love to visit during the Summer months next time!

The garden suite at Pennyroyal Valley View served as an ideal base for exploring the Otway Harvest Trail and other area attractions during the final 5 days of our 5 week Australia visit, February-March 2018. Michelle and Andrew have created a garden paradise on their 40 acres overlooking the spectacular Pennyroyal Valley. The decor of the “guest suite” was contemporary, non-cluttered and artsy; the sofa and bed were very comfortable. The entire property was lovingly maintained, neat and clean. Since we are “foodies” who travel with our own knives, sharpener and refrigerator thermometer, we especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen with quality cookware. It was fun preparing and cooking meals in the outdoor kitchen surrounded by gorgeous gardens, bird song and the warmth of a wood burning fireplace. During our stay we ate “in season” produce from their organic garden: honey from their bees, passion fruit, apples, tomatoes, greens, & zucchini. Having area wines available for purchase was convenient. Some activities during our stay: hiked to Elizabeth Lake, walked around the Colac Botanical Garden, enjoyed pies fresh from the oven at the Store in Dean’s Marsh, visited several wineries, walked the coastal trail at Airey’s Inlet, watched surfers at Bell’s Beach, enjoyed music and wine on Sunday afternoon at Gosling Creek, checked out little shops in Birregurra.

We stayed three nights at Pennyroyal Valley View over the Easter long weekend. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. Extra touches such as snacks, a wide range of tea and some breakfast provisions made our stay very enjoyable. We would highly recommend the BBQ dinner pack, plenty of delicious local and home grown food. Thanks Michelle and Andrew for your hospitality!

Michelle and Andrew’s place was beautiful, an amazing location to relax away from the stress of everyday life. Some amazing walks can be found around the property, as well as some friendly alpacas! We were very lucky to be greeted with some fresh passion fruit, plums and olives on arrival giving it a special touch. Thankyou for a great stay, can’t wait to visit again!

Our stay here was perfect: the home was spotlessly clean, and the surroundings beautiful. It was quiet and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The BBQ pack was also delicious, and the veggies from their veggie patch were amazing - highly recommended. Another thing we really enjoyed was the outdoor fireplace (with marshmallows!) and the company of their two lovely dogs. Thank you Michelle and Andrew

I had my family come visit me from Sweden so i wanted to show them the country/seaside of Melbourne. We loved every moment at Michelle and Andrews place! So friendly and hospitable. The place is very clean and comfortable, they respected our privecy the whole time. We got to enjoy the company of their cute dogs which we really enjoyed! We also had BBQ pack they provided for us with short notice two days in a row! It was honestly two of the best meals i have ever had! Andrew sourced the meat from nearby and made salads and vegetables and chutneys that was just outstanding! I will dream about this place for a long time!

Definitely stay with Michelle and Andrew. This was our second time and will come back whenever we can. The accom is separate and private from their home, and close enough if you need them. It has everything you need, is spacious and has the extra touches like a hair dryer! They helped us with some fresh produce from their garden which was delicious on the BBQ for breaky. They have heaps of local recommendations and a great knowledge of their area. The dogs are super friendly and we enjoyed meeting the alpacas and the chickens. All in all a great experience (again), looking forward to our next stay with Andrew and Michelle.

Thank you so much Michelle and Andrew for a wonderful stay in Deans Marsh. It made our trip for the Falls Festival wonderful and easily accessible, giving us directions and providing us with a parking and road pass. You supplied us with everything we could possibly need and were readily available if we needed anything at all (as well as giving us plenty of delicious zucchini’s and berries which we are incredibly grateful for). A beautiful home away from home!! Also missing Elvis and Ollie running at the back of us everyday too :) Don’t hesitate to book your stay with Andrew and Michelle! You will definitely not regret it!
