There are several wineries in the region producing quality cool climate wines, Cellar doors are open for tasting on weekend and holidays.
“Burgundy style” Pinot Noir and a “Champagne style” sparkling wine from Pinot grapes. Also a small volume of Rosé to compliment the other wines.
Attention to detail and our small acreage of four acres enable us to make a first class Pinot Noir, rich in fruit flavours with a satisfying middle palate and a long finish.The wines are matured in fine French oak barriques for up to 12 months and kept in the bottle for a further year prior to release.
The vines are hand pruned, the grapes hand picked and the wine is hand made in the authentic French “Burgundian style”, the area of origin of the pinot grape. We don’t filter our wine, instead relying on racking between barrels for clarification, and we use a minimum of preservative to ensure the full pinot characteristics come through in the finished wine.

Cellar Door is open from 11.00am to 5.00pm weekends and public holidays, and every day from Boxing Day to Australia Day.

Crucible Cider is hand made from 28 different varieties of organically-grown apples, with champagne yeasts, the pure Otway air and rainfall the only supplements to the brew. Each batch is hand-crushed and brewed in small batches, produced using methode champenoise. The process achieves a full balance of tastes resulting in a multidimensional, dry cider with mild carbonation, full mouthfeel and no excess of tannins.
Berry Gins – made from berries hand picked at Pennyroyal Raspberry Farm & Cidery and steeped with occasional gentle maceration for around 9 months in pure gin from McHenry’s Distillery (the most southern distillery in the World) in Tasmania. They can be savoured chilled, straight as an aperitif over ice, or be spritzed with a dash of cold soda water. Our gins are currently available in four real fruit flavours- Raspberry Gin – a real shot of true raspberry flavour. Marvelous!
Brambleberry Gin – this is Campari on steroids, if you like the Italian style, you’ll love this!
Boysenberry Gin – beautiful deep blackberry flavours, just like the real berry – lovely!
Marionberry Gin – unctuous layers of rich blackberry that just keep going – smooooth!
Small scale brewing at its best, all beer is brewed on site in a small 600 litre brew house (nothing is contracted) then hand bottled, labeled and bottle condition. Four regular beers, available all year round present with reasonable ABVs and big flavours and include an interesting and accessible range of styles. Seasonal keep the brewers and the beer nerds happy. From time to time a single release batch available on tap in the brew house, using ingredients foraged from the Forest.
Located at Otway Estate, The Brewery Outlet and Cellar Door provide visitors a true taste of the Otways from a selection of the wonderful wine, beers and ciders all produced on site. The Prickly Moses Beers and Forbidden Fruit ciders are produced by Otway Brewing - the on-site brewery and have flavours and tastes to suit the seasons.
